PHASES OF MATTER

description

Autonomy Capital Spain is an investment firm launching a new website and visual identity for its three internal branches. The objective was to create a premium, abstract 3D animation that visually represents each of the firm's three branches — Acre, Macro, and Stellar. Along with a set of high-impact stills to be used across the website and brand materials.

The final creative direction focused on a 12-second animation where a single abstract shape undergoes three seamless transformations, one for each branch.

The project is full of exploration and research & development. Scroll further down to explore.

DISPERSION

As we dive deeper into the scalp layers, we witness the follicles being actively nourished. The motion of our characters becomes more fluid and warm, reinforcing the idea of inner restoration.

We explored multiple visual variations of the healing effect, focusing on how the particles are absorbed by the scalp and interact with the inner structure.

EXTENSIVE

EXPLORATION

This project involved an extensive exploration phase that played a key role in shaping the final direction. We experimented with multiple creative approaches to visually interpret the abstract transformation concept.

Our early research focused heavily on glass-like materials and smoke simulations, using pyro systems to create smooth, organic forms. These simulations allowed us to explore how abstract matter could flow, dissolve, and reform in elegant ways emphasizing movement, fluidity, and transformation.

Customising light and glass

Lighting and materials were central to the look and feel. Much of the visual identity came from how light interacted with the form, which led us to build and test a wide variety of HDRI environments many of which we crafted specifically for this project. These setups helped define the object's presence, softness, and reflective qualities.

We also developed custom color gradients based on the brands palette, using them to guide the visual tone of each transformation stage. This ensured the final visuals felt cohesive with the brand while allowing space for artistic expression and motion-led storytelling.

The result of this phase was a rich visual library of abstract shapes, materials, and lighting tests many of which directly informed the design of the final animation and stills.
